Supporting international development institutions on anti-corruption
Through his wide-ranging efforts to fight financial crime, Mark Pieth has consistently sought to foster sustainable and equitable development around the world.
This has often involved working with international development institutions on issues related to transparency and anti-corruption.
For example, during his career he has acted as a judge for the African Development Bank (AfDB), as a compliance monitor on behalf of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and as the author of regional transparency standards for the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
He also served as an independent advisor on these topics, for example as a member of the Independent Advisory Board to the World Bank and the Expert Advisory Group on Anti-Corruption to the IDB.
